With the Tennessee Nutritional Standards law going into effect July 1, 2006, Sumner County needed a good nutritional drink to be able to sell in grades Pre-K through 8th grade. The Ziptide F5 is a very nutritional beverage which has an excellent flavor and is liked by a lot of the students. The product did boost the a la carte sales and has great benefits nutritionally. With the Grand Opening of Royal Spring Middle School and the Titan Café, I was looking for new items for a la carte sales!! We had large beverages but I was looking for something smaller, cost effective and something that would be well received. I also had to consider our nutritional guidelines and restrictions for a la carte sales. Jason Shaw introduced me to the small Riptide F5′s! He came one day and did a free tasting fair during lunch. The kids went wild!!! We offer the Green Apple, Blue Lemonade, Orange Tropical and Mixed Berry in our cold merchandisers every day. We sell over 150 bottles a day!! (Average Daily Participation is around 500 students) It’s affordable, nutritious and the kids say “quenches our thirst”.
